Facilities Project Coordinator

What you will do: 
You will plan, coordinate, and manage the activities of projects for our Building Services Team.  

 

Primary job duties include:

  • Coordinating with contractors and vendors to complete projects at SCDOR properties
  • Working closely with our Project Management Office, Protective Services Team, Security & Technology Services Division, and other internal departments
  • Traveling to district offices to complete and oversee projects
  • Participating in the procurement of assigned projects, negotiating contracts, and change orders as needed
  • Working with customers to develop scope of work, cost estimates, and timelines for projects
  • Communicating with stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed
  • Monitoring and providing assistance in logging incidents and building services requests using our work order system
  • Performing general maintenance as needed
  • Supporting the Building Services Team in drills, coordinating larger projects and repairs, and taking part in the on-call rotation
  • Coordinating cubicle builds, changes, and redesigns with the Warehouse Supervisor and their team to include providing plans, material lists, and timelines
  • Identifying potential hazardous conditions and reporting those to the supervisor, property managers, and any associated contractors
  • Conducting surveys and inspections to ensure a safe environment and compliance with safety rules and standards to include electrical, slips/tripping hazards, egress, and fire prevention equipment/devices

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Either:

  1. A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services  OR
  2. A bachelor's degree
    • Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Additional Requirements:

  • You should have the OSHA30 Certification in General Industry, or successfully complete the OSHA30 training and receive the Certification in General Industry within six months of employment with SCDOR.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs on a regular basis
  • Must have a valid SC Driver's License
  • You will be required to take part in the on-call rotation after normal working hours
  • May require occasional overnight travel

 

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary.  

  • A bachelor's degree and two years of business related experience
  • An associate's degree and four years of business related experience
  • A high school diploma and six years of business related experience
  • Renovation project management experience and building maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Hours:
    • Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
    • It may be necessary to occasionally alter the work schedule to assist with escorting contractors around the building.
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely one day per week.
