DORWAY Development Manager

We are looking for teammates who are:

What you will do: 
You will manage DORWAY (SCDOR’s integrated tax portal) developers and serve as a lead developer.   

 

Primary job duties include: 

  • Managing, directing, and coordinating the efforts of the DORWAY support developers.
  • Leading and coordinating team efforts to ensure that assignments are completed on time and stakeholder requirements are met per established Service Level Agreements.
  • Training (or ensuring the training of) new employees, serving as the technical consultant for production support developers.
  • Serving as a lead production support developer.   Programing, testing, and debugging new or modified systems.  Resolving system, program, and user problems as needed in a production environment.
  • Serving as a project lead.  Communicating with all stakeholders throughout the life of the project.  Developing project documentation and ensuring functional security.  Establishing priorities and timeframes of projects, assigning resources, and reviewing and assessing progress of the project.
  • Leading efforts to provide consultation to customers related to information technology.  Interviewing customers to determine business requirements; identifying how technology may enable those requirements; participating in the development of feasibility studies; and preparing documentation and recommendations to management.
  • Providing and maintaining a competent, empowered, and forward-thinking team.  Administering the employee performance program to include planning, coaching, evaluation, staff selection, time tracking, and personnel matters.

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Either: 

  1. A bachelor’s degree in communications, business administration, information technology, mathematics, statistics, management information science, or a related field and experience in telecommunications, data processing, or information technology    OR
  2. Four years of experience in telecommunications, data processing, or information technology

Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary.  

  • Two years of Gentax experience
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems development life cycle management
  • Expert knowledge of complex application development technologies, especially in the Microsoft.Net Framework environment with Microsoft SQL server database
  • Ability to work effectively with end-users, vendors, peers, staff members, and management

  • Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).  During critical events, 24/7 support will be required.
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
