What You’ll Work On  

The Regional Controller coordinates the accounting and finance departments in the region to provide information, primarily financial in nature, to local management, corporate management, board of directors, company shareholders, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the region’s future. Under direction of the Global Controller, the Regional Controller works to harmonize financial policies and procedures to provide the most financial benefit for the region. The Regional Controller would also be involved in any new acquisitions or new office setup’s to ensure that any new offices in the region are aligned financial with corporate financial goals and reporting can be provided to necessary standards.

You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

  • Oversee the regional activities of the accounting departments for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets
  • Coordinate and align the activities of core payroll processing for the region
  • Ensure compliance with standard accounting practices and Regional regulatory requirements
  • Align and maintain appropriate financial and operating metrics for the region with global operations
  • Produce concise weekly Adaptive reports and monthly workbook reports
  • Prepare information to support external audits and year-end reviews
  • Ensure a system of continuously improved management cost reports
  • Coordinate with the Global Tax Director to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes for each of the offices in the region
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the region's value
  • Respond to the Global Controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate Corporate financial needs
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

What We're Looking For

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience:

  • Ten years of hands-on accounting managerial experience

Technical skills:

  • Proven capabilities as a senior accountant in closing monthly, quarterly, and annual financials in accordance with US GAAP and local regional accounting practices
  • Experience implementing financial systems
  • Experience with project management businesses, including a high-volume of job costing

Functional skills:

  • Comfort in fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who proposes and executes solutions to problems
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Demonstrate ability to supervise and motivate subordinates

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel: Some travel though out the region may be required from time to time to understand customer requirements or country requirements in the region.  Also some trave may be required for training in the Corporate office periodically.

Physical Requirements

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
