Logistics Inbound Coordinator

Job Summary
 
Assist in providing day-to-day container tracking visibility. As well as ensure shipments get delivered smoothly and timely. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, an excellent communicator, and is able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. This person must be detail-oriented, familiar with transportation industry and committed to producing quality work, confident meeting tight deadlines, and graceful under pressure.

Essential Job Responsibilities

·       Track and trace inbound ocean containers from when the container ships at origin to empty return.
·       Build a relationship with the shipping lines and freight forwarders to form an open line of communication to obtain better tracking visibility of containers.
·       Communicate with freight forwarders and shipping lines to expedite or divert shipments and approve associated cost.
·       Communicate with origin office to ensure customs documents are being sent to Midea’s US customs clearance broker timely.
·       Assist freight forwarders with resolving any delivery issues.
·       Ensure containers are being confirmed delivered to DC’s and closed out in our system. Take appropriate actions to close containers in Midea system.
·       Monitor shipments to ensure carriers are picking up and returning empty containers quickly to avoid demurrage and detention.
·       Provide daily reporting on changes to shipment milestones and reasons for the changes.
·       Communicate with order management, warehousing, PSI and sales teams to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of containers to their final destinations.
·       Communicate with 3rd party warehouses on inbound forecast.
·       File damage claims with our insurance provider and follow through until payment is received.
·       Able to make quick decisions to resolve issues and minimize accessorial charges.
·       Ad hoc projects to streamline the process.
·       Any other projects assigned.

Required Qualifications
 
·       Bachelor’s Degree or higher
·       Knowledge of customs and import shipping experience
·       Advanced research, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
·       Organized, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
·       Intermediate Excel and Power Point skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
·       3-5 years of Inbound transportation/import experience
·       Supply Chain & Logistics knowledge
·       Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
