Education and Model Diplomacy Coordinator Internship Position at MENA Pacs
ABOUT MENA PACS:
Mena PACS is an international collaboration management company offering PMO and digital platform tools to global aid agencies throughout the Middle East and North African (MENA). In addition to technical tools, AMENA PACs offer studies and country analysis assessments & risk mitigation tools to for-profit and nonprofit organizations. MENA PACs work in conflict and high-risk zones at the community level and with national and regional governments, focusing on connecting top-down and bottom-up initiatives.
The intern will have the opportunity to conduct research on current foreign policy topics while creating a new series of educational materials. This intern will be exposed to the writing, research, and program planning of Model Diplomacy cases and provide support for the Model Diplomacy initiative.
The primary responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
° Assisting with the research, drafting, and editing of Model Diplomacy content on the United Nations Security Council, issues in global; governance and international institutions, and other topics, as requested
° Reviewing and, where necessary, researching and drafting updates for existing Model Diplomacy materials, such as timelines, recommended readings, and videos across diverse topics
° Contributing to other tasks for the Model Diplomacy program and other Education Department projects, as requested
° Undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in international relations, history, political science, or a related field
° Students should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including A.P. classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
° Relevant research experience, as well as an interest in teaching, Model U.N., simulations, and/or education a plus
° Experience with essential quantitative and qualitative data
° Strong attention to detail and resourcefulness
° Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
· This is an unpaid internship.
· Externship, internship, and college credits & mentorships eligible
· Minimum commitment of three-months – up to one year
· French and Arabic languages are desired
· This is a remote/teleworking position (occasional travel might be required)
· A minimum of 25 hours - up to 40 hours/ week
· Multiple time zones working hours
· Starts immediately – acceptance on a rolling basis
